ABOUT

Medical adhesive-related skin injury (MARSI) can affect patients of all ages, yet the risk of skin trauma associated with adhesive removal can be easily overlooked in busy clinical settings. This webinar will explore how healthcare professionals can recognise, prevent and reduce MARSI as part of everyday patient care.

Join Chair Fiona Downie alongside Rachel Allaway, Katie Leek and Joy Tickle, who will share their clinical experience and insights from working with different patient populations and care settings. From neonates and children through to adults and older people, the speakers will explore common challenges associated with adhesive removal and approaches to protecting vulnerable skin throughout the patient journey.

Through real-world examples, advice and interactive discussion, the webinar will help you consider how MARSI prevention can be incorporated into routine nursing practice.

By the end of the webinar, you will be able to:

Recognise the signs and different presentations of MARSI and identify patients who may be particularly vulnerable to skin trauma

Apply practical approaches to reduce trauma associated with adhesive removal across different patient populations and clinical settings

Identify opportunities to incorporate MARSI prevention into everyday nursing practice, including appropriate skin assessment, adhesive removal techniques and the use of medical adhesive removers where appropriate.
